SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Martin is a qualified mining engineer with 25 years in multiple areas of the mining industry. In his career he has shown a strong strategic and operating acumen as well as demonstrating a longstanding commitment to environmental and social responsibility within mining, which is central to Centamin’s decision-making and corporate strategy.

From 2009 to 2019 Martin was the Co-Founder and CEO of Toro Gold Ltd, where he oversaw the discovery, development and operation of the Mako Gold Mine in Senegal. Toro was acquired by LSE and ASX listed Resolute Mining in August 2019. Prior Martin was Executive Director of BDI Mining, an AIM listed diamond producer, and from 2000 to 2006 he worked in mining finance at Barclays Capital in London, where his responsibilities included technical appraisal and advisory services across Africa and the Middle East.  He also held consulting engineer roles with SRK Ltd and started his career as a mining engineer with Gold Fields of South Africa.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Ross has over 20 years’ experience in senior finance roles in Australia, Africa and the Middle East. Before joining Centamin, Ross was lead Audit Partner with Deloitte Perth, Australia. His experience in leading teams providing audit and related final advisory services to public companies, national and international groups continues to be of benefit to Centamin.

Also, of particular relevance is his experience of Egypt having been based in Cairo for a number of years. He has established strong relations within Egypt specifically with officials at all levels. Ross continues to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, assembling and managing multijurisdictional teams.

As a qualified accountant, Ross is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Zimbabwe (ICAZ) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Craig has spent over 25 years in gold and nickel exploration, development and mining with senior technical and management roles with listed companies in Australia, West and Central Africa, Eastern Europe, China and Asia. Craig most recently was with Randgold and Barrick where he managed the ramp-up of production at Kibali Gold Mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo to over 800,000 ounces per annum production and discovered greater than 2M ounces in Mineral Reserves.

Craig joins the Centamin team with a focus on delivering value to the shareholder by optimising the current operations, developing the team and discovering additional economic ounces in a timely manner.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Howard has spent over 40 years working in the tropics working on gold and diamond exploration projects predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa. Howard has undertaken work for BP Minerals, SAMAX, Rio Tinto, SRK Consulting, AXMIN and was a co-founder of Toro Gold.

Since 1990 Howard has worked in the Junior gold exploration sector and has developed a systematic and cost effective approach to managing gold exploration in West, Central and East Africa as well as the Arabian-Nubian Shield. Howard has been involved in the exploration process leading to commercial gold discoveries in Tanzania, Central African Republic and Senegal.

At Toro Howard managed geology and exploration at the Mako project through the exploration and development process as well as managing exploration on Toro’s portfolio of exploration permits across sub-Saharan Africa.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Paul has over 20 years’ experience supporting companies with the integration of sustainability into systems of corporate governance, management assurance and operational practice. Having previously worked at Resolute Mining, Toro Gold and Teranga Gold, Paul has held both corporate and operational roles in the West African mining and extractives sector. Paul brings value to the senior management team by leading the development and management of the sustainability strategy which underpins the business model.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Ibrahima Danso joined Centamin in June 2016 and brings to the role over 20 years’ professional experience, notably with AngloGold Ashanti in Guinea and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Alcoa in Ghana, Guinea and Jamaica, and Newcrest Mining in Côte d’Ivoire. Areas of expertise include leading small, medium and large-scale mining operations from feasibility study stage to development and operations, dealing with African governments to secure exploration and mining permits, conceptualising and executing strategic community investment programmes in host country, and conflict resolution and other stakeholder management skills to secure and manage the social licence to operate.

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc Finance and Accounting

Amr has over 21 years’ experience working in the natural resource sector in operational, financial and commercial roles. Prior to joining Centamin, Amr spent 9 years at Alexandria Petroleum Maintenance CO (Petromaint) in the oil and gas sector. 

At Centamin, Amr’s career has been focussed at the Company’s flagship asset, the Sukari Gold Mine. Over ten years, Amr has progressed through various operating and financial roles and in 2021 he was appointed as Interim Sukari Gold Mine General Manager, playing an instrumental role in the delivery of guidance, optimisation studies, cost-savings and our ESG initiatives. 

On behalf of Centamin, Amr is also the Managing Director of the Eastern Desert Exploration (“EDX”) company, Managing Director of Sukari Gold Mines and a Director of Pharaoh Gold Mines.

Darren Le Masurier is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has over 15 years' experience in corporate administration, governance and offshore regulation in Jersey. Prior to joining Centamin, Darren worked at the fiduciary and law firm Ogier in Jersey for over ten years, providing professional company secretarial, accounting, administration and director services for a diverse range of corporate clients and structures.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Craig brings more than 17 years’ experience in strategy, governance, risk management, internal control and compliance. Prior to joining Centamin, Craig was a director at PwC leading solution delivery across a range of industries and sectors, although he had a focus on mining and energy. Craig brings value to the senior management team by supporting our commitment to the effective management of risk, taking advantage of opportunities and ensuring we make more informed decisions for our future growth.

Prior to joining Centamin, Riaan worked for a hedge fund and PwC in Jersey. Specialising in the manufacturing and mining industry, he completed his chartered accounting training at Grant Thornton South Africa. Riaan is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Michael has 12 years’ experience in the mining industry across equity research, business development and investor relations. Prior to joining Centamin, Michael was Director of Investor Relations and Business Development for Golden Star Resources, culminating in the sale to Chifeng Jilong Gold. Prior to Golden Star, Michael worked in the mining teams at Berenberg, Peel Hunt, Edison Investment Research and Evolution Securities as a Mining Analyst with coverage focused on the gold, base metals, uranium and royalty sub-sectors.
